When selecting protective gear for the summer, choose light colors. They will keep you cool and hydrated for those hot Texas days!

TourMaster makes a great durable and affordable summer jacket for men and women.  This jacket is made of TourMaster's Armor-Link mesh material and ballistic polyester in the impact areas creating a well-ventilated garment that provides exceptional protection. For night rides, the jacket has TourMaster’s signature reflective rear triangle to help increase nighttime visibility. For full protection it has removable, CE approved armor at the elbow and shoulder with an articulated Triple Density back protector.

Looking for a great fitting, comfortable women's jacket?
Check out the brand new Shift Catalina and Envy jackets!
The Catalina is made of premium mesh construction which provides maximum airflow and comfort. This mesh has a soft hand to alleviate irritation against the skin, which occurs with cheaper open weave mesh. It has removable CE approved EVO-Lady shoulder and elbow armor for impact protection as well as, integrated shoulder and back padding for additional protection. For night safety, this jacket has reflective black piping integrated in to numerous seams for greater visibility.
For added comfort there are expansion zippers in the waist provide additional room while in the ride position.
The Envy is made of durable 600D poly fabric construction and has women's specific articulated design. For protection it has removable CE approved EVO-Lady shoulder and elbow armor for impact protection and integrated memory foam back padding for added protection. Another great feature are the accordion panels in key flex areas for unrestricted movement. This jacket comes in an array of colors... my favorite is the purple and white that just came in stock today!

This Alpine Stars T-Stunt Jacket is a great option for sport bike riders!
This jacket is made of 600-denier polyester fabric with PU coating and has polyester mesh inserts. You also have the option of a removable windproof and breathable liner jacket. For comfort and movement, it has ergonomically placed stretch panels for optimal flexibility. Get Some DIRT!!! :: Part One

Cycle Center of Denton is kicking off a 5 part mini series all about DIRT! We will be writing to you about what the pros ride, where to ride, how to keep your machine in tip top condition, apparel and gear, and of course what Cycle Center of Denton has to offer you : the dirt bike customer!

Part One: Ride what the Pros Ride!
Motocross is the one motorsport that we can start riding with the same basic machine the professional racers make their living with.  Motocross bikes are the most affordable racing machines available to us weekend warriors and enthusiast. Check out some of the NEW 2011 MOTOCROSS BIKES!

The 2011 Honda CRF250R is quieter, faster, and performance is better than ever! Here's what Honda's website has to say about it!

image via honda's website

"Because there’s a new 94dB exhaust rule this year, we gave the CRF250R a new muffler. But we also gave it a new ECU settings which, combined with the exhaust, gives you more usable power, especially in the midrange. It’s a win-win situation: A quieter bike and one that’s even easier to ride.
Like the CFR450R, we also gave the CRF250R a new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) with a new, bigger 24mm piston. That gives you more damping when you need it, but still remains as transparent as ever when you don’t. Better handling, better balance, better tracking, especially at the limits of performance: the new 2011 CRF250R has it all."

If you are looking for a little more power...then try out the CRF250R's Big Brother, the all new 2011 CRF450R! Here's an overview from Honda

image via honda's website

Motocross is a battle, and you’d better bring your “A” game whenever you show up—either that, or be prepared to eat a bucketful of roost. But when you’re on a 2011 Honda CRF450R it’s everyone behind you who’ll be savoring that dirt-flavored banquet. Why? Because we’ve given the CRF450R some serious upgrades.

First, the 450 gets a new throttle body, new fuel injector, and new ECU mapping so the engine makes more low end and midrange torque, and also offers even better throttle response. The power is easier to control, but without any loss of top end—better than ever for intermediate and expert riders alike. And our chassis designers were just as busy, updating the CRF450R subframe and taking the opportunity to fine-tune the subframe's stiffness. A new rear shock link and lower shock mount for improved front/rear balance and better suspension action especially over square-edged bumps.

And finally, new 2011 AMA rules state that every MX bike will have to meet the new 94 decibel rule. Both our CRF450R and CRF250R do that easily, thanks to a new exhaust system that works in conjunction with the new FI settings. So while the other guys might just change a muffler, that’s just where we started. And the first time the gate drops, it’s gonna show."

Kawasaki has an all new 2011 KX450F. Check out the new mods made on this high performance machine from Kawasaki's website

image via kawasaki's website

"In the 450cc motocross game, the only thing that matters to serious racers is top-tier performance and running up front. And for 2011, the best tool for the job is once again a green one – Kawasaki’s reworked and revised KX™450F. In this arena you can’t stand still technically, which is why Kawasaki engineers scrutinized every system and component of the race-winning 2010 model and came up with a host of tweaks that’ll have red, blue, orange and yellow wondering what hit ’em."
• Massively powerful engine
• Revised suspension settings
• Improved shifting performance
• Revised seat
• Refined ECU settings
• Easier fuel injection calibration system access
• Still easy to start!

Getting geared up is affordable too! Cycle Center of Denton has all the gear and bikes to fit into most any racer's budget. Come on by to Cycle Center of Denton for all your offroad riding needs!!!
